Customer service / Build playbook
Give every customer issue an owner.
Connect the support conversation to account context so teams can resolve issues without another round of handoffs.
An example implementation plan, not a preinstalled app or a customer case study.

- 02Account context
- 03Owned escalation
The build plan
- 01
Define escalation rules
Choose which requests need cross-team help and what information the receiving team needs. Set a clear owner, due date, and resolution state.
- 02
Match records deliberately
Connect approved Zendesk and Salesforce accounts. Create an explicit mapping from requester to account, with a review state for ambiguous matches.
- 03
Create the resolution workspace
Build a queue and detail view with the support issue, permitted account context, timeline, owner, and next action. Link back to the original records.
- 04
Route the next action
Prepare a concise Slack notification for the responsible team. Keep sensitive ticket content and private account fields out of broad channels.
- 05
Check privacy and closures
Test customer isolation, internal-note visibility, reopened requests, and simultaneous changes. Define whether closure happens in Zendesk or through a reviewed write-back.
Before it goes live
- Internal notes never appear in the customer view.
- An ambiguous account match requires review.
- Reopening a request restores ownership without duplicating the case.
Start with this prompt
Paste into Scout, then adapt it to your team. Do not paste credentials or private customer data.
Build a customer escalation workspace using Zendesk, Salesforce, and Slack. Begin with sample records. Show support issue, approved account context, owner, due date, source links, and the next action. Require review for ambiguous account matches. Keep private notes and sensitive fields out of customer views and Slack alerts. Support reopened issues and connection errors. Start read-only, with human approval for notifications and write-back.
